Another day...?

Dreamheart stood protectively over the kits. "No worries, he won't hurt a fly." the white she-cat said. She led the cats over to him. "Hey, Longears." she told the dog, with ears drooping on the grass, "Remember ol' Jetfur?"

Sunkit whispered, "She talks funny!"
"Shes a kittypet! They all talk like that!" Moonkit answered, struggling not to laugh.

The dog looked up. "Yes, he's here. Jetfur, letting ol' things go to visit yer ol' enemies, eh?" He sniffed the air. "Is those other cats yer mate 'n kits?"
Dreamheart's eyes widened in embarrassment.

Sunkit giggled.

"N-no. I, uh...Look, Jetfur told us of the battle and said we could meet you. These are the kits he told the story to also..." Dreamheart said. "Besides, Jetfur's an elder, he retired from Warrior duties."
The she-cat burst out laughing. "Sorry, didn't mean to, just askin'." the dog said.

"Hi! I am Sunkit!" Sunkit said trotting over to the dog.

"Your a dog, you know." Sunkit said. "Oh, and that grumpy kit is Moonkit, my sister."

"Oh, cool." Sunkit said and saw a chew toy. "Whats that????"

"Something dogs play with." the she-cat said, making it squeak. "Weird thing, though." She looked at the Twoleg kits. "Get inside, the she-cat and the kits." Dreamheart nodded and went behind the kits to a dark place of the dog's den.

Moonkit followed, and Sunkit did the same.

The she-cat hissed at the Twoleg kits, but they only picked her up. Whitey scratched and bit them until they dropped her. She padded back up to Longears. "Good job, Whitey." Jetfur said.

"Twolegs are so ugly," Sunkit said.
Moonkit laughed.
"What? I'm serious."

"Twolegs stink. Hey, she-cat. You think you could handle another elder mouth to feed?" she teased. Dreamheart smiled, "Sure. If you'd join. We're not that far away. And we'd have Longears if he'd help us watch for intruders or something."

"A dog?!" Sunkit said, excited and scared.

"I don't hurt cats unless they're hurting my friends." Longears said.

Sunkit yawned and curled up next to Longears. He fell asleep.

Whitey almost laughed. "I see you're all tired. Sleep in here tonight. We can head out at dusk."

Moonkit yawned.

Dreamheart let Moonkit lay down by Sunkit, then she laid down by them. Whitey went on the other side and slept in between Longears and Jetfur. Dreamheart remembered her mother...she was so protective over her kits. Dreamheart wouldn't let anything happen to the kits she knew.

Sunkit yawned and rolled over.
"Get off me, you flea bag." Moonkit said fondly.

Dreamheart purred softly, and moved Sunkit a bit so they could sleep.

Sunkit fell right to sleep.

Dreamheart fell asleep by the kits.
